Yesterday, some of our students presented their final incubated projects included in the TBSeeds initiative, which aims to support students in launching their business projects by providing mentoring and help when it comes to the early stages and further processes, such as achieving funding or marketing strategies. However, this would not be possible without our partnership with Impactivs.

The event took place at the Impact Hub, where six TBSeeds projects went through a pitching process after six months of support and mentoring. Some of the presentations, though, were held online.

Not only the projects were presented for the pitching, but they were also evaluated and raked. This way, three projects received a special recognition: 1st and 2nd prize, and a jury prize.

1st prize: NOIES, by Isabel Davies

NOIES is a platform that seeks for women’s safety regarding nightlife. In short, it is designed as an advising platform for women to review nightlife spots. However, it is more than just an advising site: it is a movement to pressure nightlife producers into providing appropriate measures to ensure women’s safety.

2nd prize: ECLIPSE, by Juan Diego Galindo and Camila Naisipa

This project brings together fashion and function in activewear – that is the reason why it is called Eclipse. Its purpose is offering both stylish and comfortable clothes, which are also eco-friendly and high quality due to a direct-to-consumer business model.

Jury prize: CURLS BY CHOICE, by Mayara de Oliveira

Curls By Choice is a training program course that spreads awareness on embracing natural hair, especially when it comes to black women, who tend to be perceived as unprofessional or “distracting” compared to a straight hair. The purpose of this project is to enable business, educators, parents and mentors to improve their knowledge with an inclusion training program to boost hair confidence in society and empower women with natural hair.

The winner

Isabel Davies, the creator of NOIES third-year Bachelor in Management student, ended up winning an entrance for the European Startups Summit, an event that gathers European startups together in order to inspire, learn and allow networking. It will be taking place at Palau dels Congressos in Barcelona on April 20th and 21st.
