TBS Professor Diego Ravenda has won the Charles H. Levine Award for Best Conference Paper (Public and Non-Profit Division) at the 2020 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Vancouver.

Ravenda’s paper, entitled “The effects of mafia infiltration on public procurement performance“, examines the effects of mafia infiltration on public procurement performance, analysing 68,063 public works contracts awarded by Italian municipalities in the period 2012-2017. His work is of great value, as it provides new insights aimed at implementing policies to address these mafia infiltration practices in public procurement. The article was published in the European Journal of Political Economy.
