On December 1st, our MSc Fashion & Luxury Marketing students had the chance to visit CASA LOEWE at Passeig de Gràcia, one of the few big stores that this Spanish luxury brand has worldwide.

This visit was helpful for the students to learn about how retail industry works along a great artistic influence, as well as a local perspective and craftsmanship based in Spain in order to offer clients all around the world an unforgettable experience. Moreover, students were allowed to enjoy a guided tour around the iconic building where it is located: Casa Lleó i Morera, a historical place valued by its modernist architecture.

However, not only luxury is found in clothes, accessories and different products destined to be sold, but actual masterpieces are one of the main attractions for costumers and non-costumers to be curious enough to access the store. We are talking about Pablo Picasso, Haegue Yang, Zizipho Poswa and many others whose art pieces are perfectly synchronized with Jonathan Anderson’s – LOEWE’s artistic director- creative point of view.

Other interesting subject areas were the change to an online business system beginning due the pandemic in 2020, the importance of treating every client with the attention, respect and empathy deserved and, last but not least, how significant it is to offer something as normalized as shopping in a different way, as a whole humane experience.

Finally, at the end of the appointment, students had positive feedback about the visit, highlighting how eye-opening it has been to find out about the way CASA LOEWE Barcelona puts together both a way to show its history through art and details, and the support it brings to local artists.
