The awards ceremony will take place on January 29, 2021, in a virtual format, as part of the AMBA & BGA Festival of Excellence. The business schools of the Harbin Institute of Technology (China), Imperial College London (UK), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and the University of Glasgow (UK) are also finalists.

Teaching through comedy

Teaching through comedy: injecting humor into educational videos is a project that combines humor and education, to demonstrate that an injection of humor into educational videos has many benefits for students: it increases attention, facilitates understanding and memorization; and reduces learning anxiety.

Inspiring Guest Project

Pedagogical innovation is a cornerstone of TBS’s educational project, with a constant focus on new teaching methods. Last year, TBS launched Inspiring Guest, which consists of making educational videos in collaboration with personalities outside the school. For example, the comedian Sammy Obeid, presenter of 100 humans of Netflix, participated in humorous videos of disclosure, to make learning as attractive as possible.

Sammy Obeid, as TBS’ Inspiring Guest, along with TBS professor David Stolin, participated in the Academy of Management 2020’s annual meeting on August 9, where they held an online workshop, related to the Teaching Through Comedy project, at the Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC). Among the nearly 50 sessions at the meeting, theirs was voted Best TLC Session.
