For the second consecutive year, TBS in Barcelona held the Equal ID Mentoring Program on November 22 at the Bailen campus. This was the first face-to-face meeting of TBS students with a female manager, since last year due to the pandemic the event was held virtually.

This mentoring program was born taking into account that every day more and more women increase their knowledge in business schools with the aim of one day reaching a position of power in a large company. For this reason, it is aimed primarily at female students in their final year of a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, who are about to face their first job challenges.

The aim of the program is to help students feel confident about entering the professional world and aspire to a management position. The meeting seeks to create a bond of closeness between the students and the female manager, who through experience can empower more women to achieve their goals in the workplace, without being belittled simply because they are women.

This project was attended by 28 pairs (student/mentor), in addition to the presence of Inès El Jamali, TBS in Barcelona Alumi Chapter Coordinator and Laura Emmamuelle Gonzalez, alumni and member of She for S.H.E. (Sharing, Helping, Empowering).

An evening of sharing

During the two-hour meeting, various games were played to build trust between the pairs and then ended with a cocktail party, where the mentors had a more personal conversation with each student, to guide them and provide them with the tools tha will enable them to face business world as women.

Although the event was a one-day event, the project expects that over the course of the year each student may be able to maintain contact with their mentors as a guide outside the university, until they start working.
