Nowadays it is quite common to hear people talk about digital transformation, even organizations think they know how to do it. However, it is worth asking whether organizations are really leading the digital transformation.

After an exhaustive research carried out by 4 experts in Digital Transfromation, it has been possible to establish the differences and similarities between Digital Transformation and IT-Enabled Organizational Transformation. This team was composed by : Roxana Ologeano Taddei, dedicated to teaching Digital Transformation and Information Systems Management at TBS Education; Lauri Wessel, who is professor of Information Management and Digital Transformation at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt; Abayomi Baiyere, known as a researcher of digital phenomena in management and society, and Jonghyuk Cha, who works as an associate professor of Information Systems at the University of Westminster.

With this research mapped out in process models, business leaders can better understand their transformation and would be able to pick up the right strategy for the benefit of their organization.

Paper Honorable Mention

The paper “Unpacking the Difference between Digital Transformation and IT-enabled Organizational Transformation” has received the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award from the Journal of the Association of Information Systems (JAIS) This journal publishes the highest quality scholarship in the field of information systems, and also promotes innovative, interesting and rigorously developed conceptual and empirical contributions.

With Digital Transformation being a topic of great importance today, it is worth considering that this transformation is cultural in nature and affects all elements of the business, including sales, marketing, operations, and customer service. Therefore, nowadays there are many options to get into this incredible world, such as the MSc Digital Transformation & Business Innovation program, which is taught on-site and entirely in English at the Barcelona campus of TBS Education and has Roxana Ologeanu-Taddei, as program manager.
