Up to 60 TBS in Barcelona, L’Epitech, and L’Idem Barcelona students have been part of the first edition of the Barnackhaton, organized by French Tech Barcelona.

The students who came from TBS are currently studying the Digital & Social Entrepreneurship track in the third year of the Bachelor in Management program.

With the support of the French Tech Barcelona association, three schools in Barcelona met on the weekend of November 19-21 to celebrate the first edition of #Barnackathon, an event designed for students in different groups to offer specific solutions to challenges on mobility, health, circular economy, and education.

Through the expertise of each of the schools, teams were set up in which the different areas of interest could contribute. From the management and entrepreneurship spirit of TBS to the computer science notions of Epitech, adding the creative arts knowledge of L’Ídem Barcelona, the groups developed ideas that could become significant initiatives in the real world.

TALENT AND CREATIVITY AT THE SERVICE OF INNOVATION

On Friday afternoon, the event’s official opening took place, where the TBS in Barcelona professor, Yancy Vaillant, took the floor to kick off some activities and games. On Saturday, he also led a workshop on keys to developing a successful brainstorming session. During the afternoon, the students received mentoring sessions to conclude with another talk on Business Plans by Florian Lanvin, a member of French Tech Barcelona and an expert in non-dilutive financing, and a workshop by Vaillant about prototyping.

The event concluded with the final pitches of the student projects and a long-awaited winning team. The winners of the first #Barnackathon presented the project Safe Space, on blockchain in the e-health area. As a reward, they obtained tickets for the well-known start-up competition 4Y4N, during the Mobile World Congress event.

Among the members of the winnig group are three TBS students: Alexis Pujo, Matteo Saracino and Ulrick Bruun Homstvedt, all part of the Bachelor in Management program.
