3 Ways to Make Use of Artificial Intelligence in Your Marketing Strategy
published on 19.03.18
Many digital marketing experts are saying that artificial intelligence will be the big story of 2018. But when they say “artificial intelligence”, most people think of androids taking over the world, Rosie the Robot from The Jetsons, or something like that. But you need something you can use!
So, to give you some tips, here are 5 great artificial intelligence applications you can easily use to boost your digital marketing. Of course, you should never skip over traditional marketing methods for positioning your company on-line.
1. Chatbots
Let’s start with the most important, earthshattering and profitable one of all: Chatbots. This looks likely to be the major development that can ramp up any website. In case you’re not up to speed on what these are, chatbots are a type of chatroom that is always active on your site and can reply immediately with predetermined answers to users’ questions.
For example, you can set it up to give information about your company, opening hours, product pricing, availability, and much more – 24/7. Imagine what it would mean for your business having someone there answering questions from potential customers while you sleep, have lunch, or are taking a shower.
The truth is that today it’s all about speed, of being “always on”, and this has never been easier to do using artificial intelligence. Fortunately, installing a chatbot isn’t rocket science: there’s an excellent platform called Motion.ai that is the first choice of many businesses. However, it has recently been bought by HubSpot and is currently in re-development with an expected re-launch sometime this year.
The good news is that if you already use HubSpot, you’ll have everything you need all in one spot. If you have an account there, you’ll be automatically notified when you can install your bots. Don’t wait: sign up with HubSpot!
2. Magisto
If you’re one of those people addicted to videos (don’t worry – I am, too!) you have to use Magisto. It’s a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to create great-looking, one-of-a-kind, perfect videos. The only thing you have to do is upload your video or set of photos with one or more music tracks and it will give you back a finished video that’s ready for primetime.
What does it do exactly and how does it use artificial intelligence? Well, it simply analyses the video or photos to look for faces, people, movement, actions, and more, in order to synchronize them in perfect time with the music.
Now you won’t have to spend hours editing a video to create a great-looking presentation. Also, you can choose from several editing styles and apply them automatically. If that isn’t having it all, I don’t know what is. The app is available for free download for iOS or Android, and there is a paid plan offering even more features.
3. Voice-activated Search
I have split this section in two because voice-activated search has simply become such an everyday thing for all of us:
· Optimize our website for voice-activated search
It is crucial to think out how to implement all types of search because that is how to reach more people. I am the first person to admit that it is such a drag to have to type something so I can search for it and how when I say “OK Google” and a search window pops up, it feels so futuristic.
The first step is to list your business in Google My Business and enter all the key information about your business in order to have better chances of coming first in search results. You should also think about how people use voice-activated search: their questions are longer, more conversational, and natural. Then you should tailor your content to fit those questions. Here the most useful keyword is “long-tail”.
· How to add voice-activated search in WordPress
If you use WordPress, take the step of giving this option to people who visit your site. It is very easy since you just have to install the Voice Search plug-in and you’re set: a state-of-the-art website in minutes!
Remember that nothing is too difficult, and anything that you can do to increase engagement and visits is worth it. As Gananci says: “The people who swear that something is impossible should never interrupt the people who are making it happen.”
