Master in Management students visit Port of Barcelona

Yesterday, some of our Master in Management students on their discovery semester visited Port of Barcelona’s facilities for their Digital Transformation course. They learnt some facts about the functioning of the port, as well as the basics of the main industries operation: fashion and footwear and automobile, followed by e-commerce and chemical industries.
Moreover, they have also been introduced to Port of Barcelona’s values, guided by a main purpose: to thrive and provide the city of Barcelona a wealthy economical activity. All in all, there is still a long way to go, since an improvement in the railway to speed up the stock transportation is needed, as well as some environmental measures such as automating some processes for loading and unloading containers.
Afterwards, our students had a boat tour around the port, in which a guide explained the features of both leisure and commercial areas by observing each terminal of the port, including the cruise terminal and the yacht terminal.
