About Alex Liberfield session in TBS Education in Barcelona Campus

The session with Alex Liberfield brought valuable insights and opportunities to the students, encompassing various aspects related to entrepreneurship, finance, and professional development.

He shared firsthand experiences building startups and founding hedge funds, providing a real-world perspective on entrepreneurship and investment. He discussed personal experiences of retiring in his 20s, offering unconventional insights into financial planning and achieving financial independence. He also provided advice and strategies on identifying investment opportunities, imparting practical knowledge and skills crucial in the finance industry.

He also shared insights on becoming more “market smart,” giving students a deeper understanding of economic trends, market dynamics, and the ability to navigate the complexities of financial markets. Finally, he introduced a program for young finance students called Trend Up Now featuring practical hands-on exercises, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios and enhance their practical skills.

After the session, Professor Pousset highlighted that the key to this kind of event is “to bring in speakers who can not only share their success stories but also provide actionable advice and mentorship opportunities to help students apply these insights in their own journeys. And if possible, speakers who are great storytellers (who can share their knowledge and advice through anecdotes)”. She thinks successful entrepreneurs, impact entrepreneurs, investors and VC, finance industry leaders, fintech innovators, and industry consultants are great profiles as key event speakers.

It was, without a doubt, a unique opportunity to make connections, expand professional circles, and explore exciting opportunities with an exceptional guest. And as Alex Liberfield said: “Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone.”
