TBS Education in Barcelona is the Spanish campus of TBS Education and one of the most international campuses of the group, where Bachelor, Master and other short programs like the Summer School are delivered.

The AACSB Accreditation
AACSB is the official accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, an American quality label that was created in 1916. AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. TBS Education obtained its first AACSB accreditation in 2003, which has been renewed for 5 years in 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024.

The AMBA Accreditation
AMBA is the official accreditation of the Association of Masters of Business Administration, a British quality label that was created in 1967 and accredits graduate business programs worldwide. TBS Education received its first AMBA accreditation in 2002, which has been renewed for 5 years in 2007, 2012, 2015 and 2021.

The EQUIS Accreditation
The European Quality Improvement System is the accrediting body of the European Fund for Management Development (EFMD) and is dedicated to raising the standard of management education worldwide. TBS Education obtained its first EQUIS accreditation in 2001, which has been renewed for 5 years in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2019 and in 2024 for the 6th consecutive time. The EQUIS European Quality Improvement System label is granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). This European label that was created in 1998.

A little history
The Barcelona site of TBS Education, formerly ESEC, was founded in 1995 by the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona. Their aim was to create a business school in Barcelona that was of the same quality as the French Grandes Écoles. TBS Education, known at the time as ESC Toulouse, was their academic partner.
In 2004, TBS Education (ESC Toulouse) acquired ESEC, which then became their Barcelona campus. However, the Barcelona business school grew so rapidly that in 2008 it had to relocate to the facilities in calle Trafalgar and calle Bailén, right in the heart of the city.
In 2013, ESC Toulouse officially changed its name to Toulouse Business School (TBS). The Barcelona campus, known up until then as ESEC, also changed its name to TBS Education in Barcelona. In 2022, the school moved to a 7-story eco-responsible building in the city’s 22@ district.
Since that moment, the Barcelona campus has continued to grow: in 1997 it began with 45 students, but now has over 700; in the beginning, it started with 4 employees and around 40 professors, at present it employs over 30 professionals and some 160 professors; in 1997, the school’s students hailed from 3 different countries, whereas today there are over 60 nationalities among our student body.
