• Specialized AI training becomes key to meeting the growing demand for technological talent.
  • AI is expected to create 20 to 50 million new jobs by 2030.
  • AI is not eliminating jobs, it is transforming them.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has ceased to be a complementary tool and has become essential for many companies. However, the lack of professionals puts its implementation at risk. According to a study by Access Partnership and Amazon Web Services, 70% of businesses are seeking specialised AI profiles, but only 20% of these find the desired profiles.

Given this situation, current company managers and employees must also receive training in artificial intelligence to adapt their business activities to the digital transformation. In addition to training their employees, companies need to recruit new qualified profiles who can take on tasks related to this technology.

Need for AI formation

To address this skills gap, educational centers, such as TBS Education- Barcelona , have developed specialized programs, such as the MSc Digital Marketing & Analytics, which train students to incorporate the latest AI tools into businesses: prompting, image generation, text-to-video conversion, social media analysis, natural language processing, etc.

As Carlos Carrasco-Farré, professor in the Data Science & Information Systems department at TBS Education, states, “AI isn’t eliminating jobs, it’s transforming them. The key is to anticipate and acquire the skills the market is already demanding.”

Training in this technology offers several benefits:

● Increased professional productivity: Allows workers to fully utilise their potential, improving their job performance.
● Better decision-making: Facilitates achieving better business results through the efficient use of technology.
● Greater number of job opportunities: The demand for professionals trained in AI continues to increase, expanding employment opportunities.
● Professional differentiation: AI skills make workers a valuable company asset.

AI impact in workplaces

The application of artificial intelligence is boosting business productivity; in Spain, a 39% increase is expected. Furthermore, it is increasing the need for professionals trained in AI and similar technologies, as there is a growing demand that cannot be adequately met.

As a result, salaries for these profiles, at least in Spain and according to Amazon Web Services, are estimated to increase by up to 30%. In this new work environment, the real challenge is not only maintaining a good technological pace but also adequately training workers.

New job opportunities

AI has been a turning point in the world of work with the “AI First” strategy. Now, the threat is no longer whether or not to use this technology, but rather who has the skills to leverage it. Its benefits are already evident: AI has made it possible to automate repetitive, low-complexity tasks, freeing workers to focus on more strategic tasks, such as supervision, creativity, and improving business results.

This paradigm shift is not only transforming current jobs but has also created new job opportunities. Given this trend, AI is expected to generate between 20 and 50 million new jobs globally by 2030, according to a report by McKinsey & Company.

To boost AI in Spain, the Spain Digital Agenda 2025 proposes training a total of 20,000 specialists, an ambitious goal that, according to experts, will be difficult to achieve.

“We can’t let a lack of training limit the potential for economic growth offered by AI. The key is to integrate this technology from the educational foundation,” Carrasco concludes.
